James Ensor (13 April 1860 – 19 November 1949) was a Belgian painter and printmaker who lived in Ostend (Oostende, a city by the North Sea) for most of his life.

This year, Belgium is celebrating the artist with an Ensor-year. Inspired by his work, I’ve been making prints in several different techniques. This series is monotype doodling, one of my favorite ways of thinking out loud 🙂
