Small pleasures #1
“So often, we exhaust ourselves and the planet in a search for very large pleasures- while all around us lies a wealth of small pleasures, which – if only we paid more attention- could daily bring us solace and joy at little cost and effort.” From ‘Small pleasure’ by The school of life.
Sometimes I read that by looking at the world through a lens, one can’t fully live it or be present. I have the feeling that for me, it’s the opposite. By looking at the light, colors, and textures, noticing makes me more aware of everything that is happening and constantly changing, bringing the focus to the faraway horizon or something as small as a twinkling frozen snowflake. The actual capture by the camera is sometimes more of a ritual or a tool than a final result.
